The Fortress of Emotions aims at preserving the heritage of the World War I memories kept within the walls of Forte Belvedere Gschwent. The path includes three sensitive environments: The Animated Model, The Sentries, and The Howitzers of Sounds.

Through a simple gesture, The Animated Model allows you to retrieve information and listen to comments. The Sentries are projections of soldiers’ everyday life activities, which are triggered by the presence of visitors. Finally, The Howitzers of Sounds is a sound work reproducing noises and music that recall war activities and situations. The Fortress of Emotions is an emotional experience that offers a contemporary transposition of the most intimate and personal features of WWI soldier life.

The path at Forte Belvedere Gschwent is enriched with further installations: Eyes Made of Light (November 2008), The Diaries of the Machine-Gun Nests (2009), and The House of Messages (2010).
