This work is a new leg of the Mediterranean project started in 2000, in which Studio Azzurro already took part in 2002 with an installation in Naples, and in 2010 with a work in Genoa. The exhibition includes three sections: a design part, which shows the formation of thought through drawing, and its becoming image through filming and post-production; a section dedicated to the poetic documentation of the artisan gestures that characterize the land of Mancha, in central Spain; and a two-part sensitive environment requesting visitors to interact with it.
The Mancha is a disputed area, which is why we decided to talk about it through an installation where two walls face each other. Apparently inaccessible, these walls are interactive and sensitive to the visitor’s gesture. By touching them, you can find a passage to virtually cross the barrier and enter. The scene now changes, and the exploration goes on in a suspended dimension, as in the memory of a journey: you can see a sea and star map while hearing voices that have intertwined and followed one another over the centuries. These voices tell the same stories in different languages. You see places, landscapes, buildings. Finally, a different scenario appears, with light and wind as protagonists, then a new wall quickly slides, ready to be touched and offer another story.
